Pariah is a unique summons/save hero, somewhere between a cross of Lone Druid and Warlock.

Pariah was once part of the Divine Host, a group of Angels dedicated to fighting Doom and Nevermore for conquest of Humanity's souls. She was assigned to guard, protect and convert a small village in a forest.

However, one day a host attacked. Surprisingly, it was not at the command of demons, but rather cruel orcs and trolls. Even as Pariah slew many, the numbers simply kept coming and Pariah appealed to the Host for aid.

Her request was met with cruel silence.

That night, the villagers thanked Pariah for her aid and gently asked her to leave. However, in her desperation and despair, she left instead to the halls of her sworn enemies. She stood at the Blazing Throne and appealed to the Lord and the Shadowfiend.

Her request was simple. Aid, in the form of a single demon should be enough to deter the invaders. In return, she would be happy to not promote the demons, exactly, but simply working with one to guard villages would improve the reputation of them. And perhaps more would fall into their hands. Her only exemption was that of the people of the village she protected.

Doom, whilst unconvinced, did appreciate the novelty of the idea. And so he bid a Pit Lord to come forth and commanded it to serve the Angel, as long as it did not fight Demons. The Pit Lord was understandably confused but did as it was told.

And so when the horde attacked the next day, they were routed by swords and flame and light. And the Pit Lord kept the bargain and journeyed with the Pariah, and the Pariah kept hers and began to speak of their combined heroics. The Divine Host had cast out 2 protectors, she argued. And their results of unburnt and prospering villages was the only proof they ever needed.

And all was well in the Court of Doom.
