Once a sweet and innocent girl, Maya has long forgotten the ordinary days of what was once a normal life. As a princess, she was adored by all not only because of her image as a daughter of a just and kind king, but also because of her naturally loving soul that made her go out of her way to help others. Her life shattered to pieces when an army of demons suddenly ravaged their kingdom, and laid waste to all as far as the eye could see. In his final moments, the king ordered his most trusted servant to escort his daughters to safety through a hidden passage underneath the castle. They made their way far enough from the attack, only to be met by a demon general. The servant fought with all his might and stalled long enough for the sisters to flee, but he was inevitably slain. The sisters ran in different ways, and have since lost each other. Maya was found and adopted by an old man, who later revealed himself to be a retired demon hunter. Maya was determined to learn from him the ways of slaying demons, and so the old man passed all of his knowledge unto her and trained her as best he could. 8 years later, at the death of the old man, Maya set out to venture and avenge his kingdom and family, and also to find his long lost sibling. Maya held her necklace in hand, and saw that the blue light was glowing ever faintly.
