Yogvald was a mighty warrior. Epic in achievements and stature, his might warhammer shattering foe and fiend alike. During one of his great adventures he battled the great demon Syltharistra, and while the beast was strong Yogvald was stronger. So he slew the demon's body, but its mind attempted to possess Yogvald in one last effort of survival. As the demon's dying mind invaded Yogvald the mighty warrior had to fight a scarring mental battle. With great effort he resisted it, but at great cost. His once stable mind was wrecked by the subjective aeons of horror, mania, rage, and grief he experienced. In the end he came out stronger, magically empowered by the demon's final attempt at life. But with his mental health as the price Yogvald wishes he could turn back time and regain his mental clarity. Now he is plagued by his inner demons, both metaphorically and somewhat literally, as what is left of Syltharistra still echos faintly in the deepest reaches of his mind.
