DESCRIPTION & LORE

Description

Samyr and his loyal direhawk Akkni form a formidable lane opponent and potent control hero. They are dependent on good positioning and timing, but with enough mastery they decide where their enemy will stand and which way they will run.
Air Patrol unlocks the power of every spell Samyr has. Increasing cast range helps initiating with Nosedive, playing with the break radius of Sheriff's Eye and setting up good Spring Traps. Plus it's a great scouting tool to help him read an engagement and position accordingly.
Nosedive is his bread-and-butter initiation tool. It has a built-in safeguard, creating some separation from his target, but only when used right. Otherwise, it will have the exact opposite effect, bringing him right into the hands of the enemy.
Sheriff's Eye allows Samyr to establish a great lane presence and makes the enemy think twice about when to run and when to commit to aggression, as Sheriff's Eye punishes any misjudgement severely.
Last but not least, Spring Trap and its shard upgrade make Samyr a chaotic presence in teamfights. When timed right or coordinated with stuns, he can make any enemy's wrong move a total displacement and expedite their demise.
(I know this might be kind of a bargain bin Batrider without the farming tools, but let's discuss that constructively. I've reworked this hero like 4 times already and I'm not entirely married to the entirety of the current concept either. I just think it's the best it's been so far.;

Lore

The Vhoul are mostly known to be forest fauna of the pest variety these days. In the past, however, they were a territorial race, vying for domination over the woodlands with elves, ogres and humans alike. What remains of their once proud and numerous tribes is contained within Samyr. On the battlefield, Samyr seeks to revive the glory of the tales spoken by his forebears and lived by their ancestors. The vigor of this dream even led him to tame his own direhawk companion, Akkni, a feat unseen by the Vhoul for generations. Together, they stalk the skies, seeking to protect order within the borders of what they deem to be their territory, and beyond.
