Echo Sabre and MoM are both items that peak in the early to mid game and then tend to fall off pretty hard. This item is meant to give frequent buyers of either item more options once they need to upgrade. For MoM buyers who don&#039;t necessarily want a satanic, this item gives weaker but much more constant sustain during fights, while still buffing the attack capabilities of agility heroes. The Mask active and Sabre passive now interact with each other, with the extra strike giving increased lifesteal and the Berserk active giving a free, cooldown-ignoring proc of the extra strike. The main part that seems wonky is that the active will still fully silence you and reduce armor for 6 seconds, which is a huge downside. I feel like the item is too strong without it but I could be wrong.

Mask of Madness upgrade in combination with Echo Sabre is killer, a lot of heroes right now just aren't buying MoM anymore because they don't need a satanic, so this item is perfect for them- namely Faceless Void and Juggernaut. Good buildup and decent stat bonuses for the money but still has the active downside which makes this a really balanced item IMO.
