Mindflayer summons a thought leech from beyond the veil. The leech is an uncontrollable unit who floats towards spell casters. Going faster and lasting longer each time a spell is cast. Once it reaches its target it will attach to them and start dealing damage to them while reducing their intelligence. The Leech will also attach to an enemy if they bump into it. -Upon cast it takes 1.2 seconds for the leech to appear. -The leech will target the first enemy who casts a spell within its search radius. -The leech will change targets if another enemy who is closer to the leech than the initial target casts a spell. -The leech cannot be stopped or damaged. It has free pathing and will continue to target enemies who become invisible or hidden. It can latch onto invisible enemies. If the leech latches onto an invisible enemy it will not reveal the enemy, but the leech itself is visible to Mindflayer and his team.

Mindflayer takes control of an enemy hero. While under his control the enemy is slowed and has reduced attack damage and attack speed. Mindflayer may force the enemy to cast 2/4/6 spells, casting an ultimate counts as 3 spells. When Mind Control is cast all spell cooldowns are refreshed. When the enemy regains control of themself their spell cooldowns will be as they were before Mindflayer took control. -The mind controlled enemy is still on the enemy team and can be damaged by Mindflayer and his allies as normal. Their allies can interact with them as normal. However, forced attacks and spell casts will function as if they are from Mindflayer's team, this means the mind controlled enemy can attack their allies, target their allies with offensive spells, or target their enemies with buffs.

Innate: Neuro Dominance: When an enemy is initially affected by one of your spells they take a burst of damage equal to the intelligence difference between you and them. Deals no damage versus enemies who have equal or more intelligence than you. Facets: Thinking thought leech: Thought Leech is controllable. Will behave as normal if not controlled, but can be given orders to change targets or to attack someone even when no spells are cast. Cluster headache: Migraine is a 300 radius area of effect ability. Duration is reduced to 9 seconds. Snap back to reality: When an enemy becomes dizzy they take Neuro Dominance damage. This Neuro Dominance instance deals double damage.

Mindflayer is almost exclusively a hard support. The main choice in his build and playstyle is whether he focusses on Migraine or on his other spells. If Migraine is very valuable this game go the left talent tree and get the shard. Otherwise go the right talent tree. The item build is incredibly flexible. Buy what is needed. Need to protect teammates? Force, glimmer and pavise. Need to survive? Aeon disk, bkb. Lock down? Euls, atos, or hex. In certain games, where Migraine is super valuable, getting a lot of intelligence can make Mindflayer quite the threat. And if you have that lots of intelligence then the scepter becomes very enticing.

Mindflayer is a ranged intelligence spell caster who punishes spell casting. Enemies who cast spells take great amounts of damage from Migraine and attract Thought Leeches who deal damage and drain intelligence. And the clever ones who cast no spells near Mindflayer can still be stunned by him. Mindflayer's powerful ultimate makes the targeted enemy take random actions for quite a lengthy duration. Actions include attacking allies and casting spells for Mindflayer's team. He's squishy, and offers little in the way of direct damage. If the enemy casts no spells of their own than two of Mindflayer's spells do nothing. When fighting Mindflayer it's important you use powerful spells before he can cast insanity on you. You cannot use them against your team if they're already on cooldown. Mind-control: changes Insanity to give Mindflayer full control over his target for a short duration. Mindflayer may cast a number of spells equal to his ultimate level, after which the target will be silenced but will still be under control of Mindflayer. The target has massively reduced attack damage, spell amplification, and movement speed.
