Ghoul Lord Core

The name of the game here is maximize damage instances against as many heroes as you can. Radiance is great for this, Blademail is a poor mans Radiance, and Maelstrom or Battlefury can also be situationally good. Witch Blade synergizes with your stats well and applies extra slow for staying on top of enemies. BKB helps channel your stun longer in case you aren't at the health threshold. Skadi, Shiva, and Hex all keep you on top of enemies who are going to kite you otherwise and will help you chase even without having a movement ability.

Ghoul Lord Support

Maximizing damage instances is good here as well, but we also want items that synergize with your Ghostly Image. Meteor Hammer applies a lot of damage instances and can be channeled while enemies are feared by the ghost with extra time to spare, dealing mass damage and keeping them in Exhume. Shard and Atos help this synergy further and will keep enemies in Exhume for much longer, be it feared or rooted. Aghs can be nice in a pinch if your team needs heals, and is a very risky way to refresh both of your Ghostly Image charges in the middle of a teamfight. Euls can help set up your ghosts like how Void Spirit uses Aether Remnant, and Wraith Pact is great at applying lots of AOE damage instances and buffing your allies.

IDEA DESCRIPTION

This is hero built on the design principle of -damage instances matter-. This is something we see in Dota only once, that being Templar Assassin, and in her case damage instances matter only defensively. Ghoul Lord's passive makes it so that instances of damage he applies in everything from attacks to items reduce enemy magic resistance and max HP, with a long cooldown finisher ultimate that instantly kills heroes under a certain health level. I'm not quite sure what roles he would fill, as initially I designed him as a highly level dependent midlane ganker. As the whole hero came together it became clear that his abilities can be effective in many other ways, and might be more effective in a support role under certain circumstances and with certain items built. This is one of my most vague heroes in design intention as I primarily built him for one core mechanic and branched off of that, so you might have a whole other idea about how he should be played and what might be broken, so let me know what you think!

Thanks! Wanted to test it out and added some item guides to the Purifier as well. Works really well so far and might go back and edit my previous posts with guides like this
