ITEM & SKILL BUILDS

Optimized item & skill guides for Paciscor, the Politician.

Backline Healer & Disabler

soft support
Support teamplay build that primarily uses Tantalize to buff up allies, and disable enemy heroes. Holy Locket is a must have, amping the healing from Tantalize and the lifesteal from Infatuate. Your taunt is a risky spell to cast without items to bolster your HP pool, and your ult is only so good from a range, so items like Glimmer Cape, Ghost Scepter, and Force Staff should be considered based on matchups to give you the most effective spellcasts without suicide.

Right Click Manfighter

hard carry
Core manfighting build primarily reliant on access to enemy heroes and maneuverability. Armlet gives great damage and sustain in combination with Usurp and Infatuate, and can be combined with MoM to man up to nearly any hero early game. BKB and Dragon Lance will soon become necessities as enemies gain kiting tools in the mid game, and items like Silver Edge and Overwhelming Blink keep you on top of enemies even longer.

IDEA DESCRIPTION

Explained by the author.

The Politician is a strength ranged hero with a kit that walks the line between farming and feeding. Their primary mechanic is the ult, which turns enemy regen against them in the form of pure damage. This makes the rest of the kit, which comprises mostly of buffs that affect both allies and enemies, vary wildly based on the second to second decision making in teamfights or lane engagements. I've composed two primary builds which can be seen above, that vary not just wildly in itemization, but in the minute to minute gameplay and ability usage from your hero. This hero looks to benefit wildly from extreme specialization, and each of the four abilities can have entire builds centered specifically around one of their mechanics, likely to great effect should you use your spells properly. This hero will likely be a divisive one in terms of balance, particularly the ultimate and the fact that he is a ranged hero. Let me know what you think of the design, and what I could possibly change while keeping the core design intact. Thanks!

Very complex hero for sure. Usurp is very strong, but I think the CD limitation and HP cost makes that fair. I think Infatuate is very neat against enemies (though the name doesn't sound too much like a taunt), but I think it's a bit strange for allies. For melee allies, it's too much of a straight buff. Maybe that's enemy only? For tantalize, again, it's really interesting against enemies (this we both heal, but you get stunned if you run thing), but for allies it's very tether-like. For the Ult, that is extremely powerful. So strong that it seems like it would completely control what kind of heroes and items you could use against him (crossing off entire options of play for the enemy). I think it's far too strong to be a passive. So, it would need to be either severally nerfed for numbers or make it a somewhat short duration active. In general, though, very complex, interesting hero. Hard to get a good read on balance.

Made a bunch of changes in response to this feedback. Mainly the ultimate is reworked into a toggled ability, with more damage than before but with the downsides of increasing all damage the Politician takes and causing status effects he receives to last longer. The Aghs brings back some of the passive and the old Aghs, but is more involved now. Infatuate is also now better on ranged allies, while still being a dangerous spell against enemies. And I think Tantalize will be more than just a "Tether bot" spell now that the ult is toggled and risk vs reward. You can see the specifics of each change in my above comment, many other things got minorly tweaked that I didn't touch on here. Thanks for your feedback!
